This walk: 2018-11-5 This walk was a reconnaissance walk for the Lydford High Down walk on 25th November 2018.
Looking down from the track above Wheal Mary Emma tin mine at two round buddles, where heavy tin was separated from lighter "gangue" .....

Filled-in shaft with the building behind.
A second building, nearer the river with the remains of a filled-in wheel pit. This is said to be large enough to house a 30 or 40-foot diameter wheel.
Approaching Black Pool, below Black Rock which bears the Hunter Memorial plaque (see top left) ..... also known as Hunetr's Pool .....
Presumablt the hornfelsed slate and hornfelsed siltstone of the Liddaton Formation (metamorphised by the nearby granite intrusion) - see the BGS Geology of Britain map viewer .....

A sadly weathered memorial seat from perhaps 1986, 32 years ago, at SX 52731 85548 .....
