Pre-1750 stamping mills in the Norsworthy area

1750 was the year after which traditional methods stopped producing tin economically. Richard Trevithick's high pressure steam engine was patented in 1802 (Oliver Evans in the USA in 1801) after James Watt's patent expired in 1800. These engines made punping water from deeper mines much more efficient, leading to the deep mining of tin which ended on Dartmoor by around 1925.

NORSWORTHY BRIDGE (B)
, SX 5687 6942, (Legendary Dartmoor - Tin mills). Tthis appears to be about 50 metres up Newleycombe Lake from the road at Norsworthy Bridge. I have a location at SX 56730 69380 (erroneous?).

Devon & Dartmoor HER - MDV20821 - TIN MILL in the Parish of Walkhampton - SX 567 698 - some confusion, mentions a mortar stone built into the inside face of a north-east wall at Leathertor Farm. Also notes a 1511 lease that mentions a knocking mill. Perhaps should be part of one of the Norsworthy mills.

Devon & Dartmoor HER - MDV20826 - TIN MILL in the Parish of Walkhampton - SX 572 692 - close to Middleworth Farm, some confusion of mills, different places??
